Benjamin Moore Color 2021 Colors of the Year

Just like clothing fashion, there are fashionable colors as well. Take for instance Benjamin Moore’s new picks for the year 2021. They come in many hues on many places in the spectrum, but these new colors really reflect home and give you a sense of comfort. Benjamin Moore has named Agean Teal, Gray Cashmere, Atrium White, Muslin, Foggy Morning, Amazon Soil, Silhouette, Kingsport Gray, Beacon Hill Damask, Chestertown Buff, Potters Clay and Rosy Peach, its colors of next year. They’re all gorgeous and I have some fabulous suggestions on how to use these colors in your home. Don’t worry…we’re not going to write an essay on color. I picked a few of my favs and I’m going to highlight them. It’s better than watching paint dry.

Aegean Teal

Screen Shot 2020-11-25 at 10.07.36 AM.png

This one is in the lighter teal family and it’s fantastic. I personally think that it makes for a great accent color like on one wall, inside a coffered ceiling, inside some bookshelves or on a kitchen island as a contrast to white cabinets. You could definitely go bold and paint the entire room in Aegean Teal because it’s just soft enough. This color gives you a comfortable country feel while still brightening up the space. It’s a real, at home, type of color.

Silhouette

Aside from having a cool name, and being my fav, this pick has a beautiful deep, dark brown hue with just a hint of gray. Using this on an accent wall would also be exquisite but I prefer to make a statement and paint an entire room with this luscious color. It makes the room feel cozy and if you trim the room in a white or cream color like Atrium White the space still stays open. I would do this in a larger room or even in a sweet little book nook. The great thing about it is that you can use brighter colors or whites in furniture and art to contrast this dark color creating a beautiful pop.

Foggy Morning

Screen Shot 2020-11-25 at 10.15.00 AM.png

The name of this color is spot on. It reminds me of a foggy morning on a beautiful summer day with just the tiniest bit of pink in it. This choice would be excellent for a little girl’s room and lately the trend is to paint larger spaces like a master bedroom in this type of color. My choice would be to use it to make a space a bit more feminine. This color would also go well with in a bathroom with a Carrera marble countertop or even on the bathroom vanity to make a statement. Pair it with Atrium White for a lovely, bright appearance that will give you a fresh, clean look and spa like feel.

Screen Shot 2020-11-25 at 10.18.40 AM.png

Rosy Peach

This one speaks for itself and the name speaks for itself. The best way I can describe it is peach with a rose spice to it. I could see this color on a large accent wall that draws the eye or perhaps as an all over color in a small sitting room. I say that because it has a comfortable, almost boho feeling to it. You could pair it nicely with white and use throw pillows with a hint of gold or cream to match. This color makes a great statement while still being demur.

My Wine Room or Yours?

As I sit here at my office window watching the squirrels try to figure out a way to get to my bird feeders, I think to myself, now would be the perfect time for a glass of wine to go with this entertainment. From Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio to Cabernet, Malbec, Merlot, and every blend in between, we ladies, and some gents, love our wine. Especially during the holidays. Now…I’m more of a wine drinker than a wine collector but a lot of people like to buy their wine by the case and collect it on trips to wonderful places like Napa Valley, Sanoma, France and Italy. And where do they put all that wine? Well, once upon a time, it was a secret room down in the far reaches of the basement but not anymore. In recent years, wine rooms and wine closets have become more of a feature in a home than a damp, dark, out of the way cellar. Take a look at what’s trending in wine spaces.

Store It, Display It, Taste It

If you have the space in your home and the budget, a larger wine room might be the thing for you. With tons of storage and display areas plus a place to relax and taste all of that delicious wine. The design of the room often reflects the owner’s taste in wine. If you’re into Italian wines, you might choose to design your wine room in a rustic Tuscan style with lots of warm wood and scrolled iron work. If you’re into younger wines from places like New Zealand, you may choose to have a more modern wine room with lots of glass, concrete counter tops, clean lines and dark colors. Or you may be into the blends so your room may be more boho in style with lots of funky decorations and earth tones.

Screen Shot 2020-11-21 at 8.38.55 AM.png

What’s in Your Closet?

Glass Under Stairs Wine Closet.jpg

A more budget friendly and usually more creative idea for wine display and storage is the wine closet. It’s typically smaller and more efficient than a wine room and located in creative spaces such as underneath a stairway or in a converted coat closet. Usually they have some type of interior display/storage system and a door with a glass window in it. Some have beautiful metal gates instead of a wood door, some have an ornate wood door. I’m a big fan of the all glass enclosed wine closet tucked underneath a flight of steps. These are easier to put a cooling system into in case you want to keep your wine bottles at a certain temperature and it’s easier to see all that you have at a glance.

Function Over Form

Screen Shot 2020-11-21 at 8.45.57 AM.png

Well maybe not quite but there’s more to building a wine storage space than you might think. For the serious wine enthusiast, you will want to consider how easy it will be to view the label on each bottle so that when you go to select one, you can do so without much ado. Especially if you have a lot of wine. That means perhaps using a storage system that allows each label to display outward yet still keeping the bottle horizontal, so the cork stays wet. Temperature is especially important to each type of wine whether it’s red or white, so the space needs to have its own climate control. I’ve read that even some red wines need to stay cooler than room temperature and most white wines need to be refrigerated. If you have a wine closet instead of a room, and it’s in a cooler basement area than climate control may not be a consideration. And lastly, your wine space should consider storage for wine glasses. Hang them upside down underneath a cabinet for a more classic look and out of the way storage or take your stemless glasses and put them up on some open shelving. Now is the time to put out the good glasses or a beautiful collection of unmatched ones for a more eclectic look.

Decorating Your Thanksgiving Table

While meandering amongst all the local shops filled with holiday cheer, it occurred to me that I should make this challenging year an extra festive and thankful one at Thanksgiving. I decided to amp up my table design this year so that while we indulge in the deliciousness, we will be reminded that it’s up to us to make this an extra special get together. I decided to drop by my favorite place for some special tabletop treats, The Linen Gallery. There I found treasures such as table clothes, fabric napkins, table runners and, best of all, ideas for decorating the table.

What’s in the Middle?

Nothing anchors a table like a great centerpiece. You can go in so many directions with this one. Something funny like a great big handmade turkey, or a piece that has been handed down through your family like us (which we lovingly call the chicken-turkey), or a beautiful live or faux flower arrangement. It all depends on your style but don’t forget not to make it too tall so we can all see one another when we sit down to eat and, of course, talk.

Where Should I Sit?

It's a cute idea and a helpful one as well, to set out some place holders at each seat. People like having a little something special at their spot and if you are interested in social distancing, it’s a polite way to create some separation amongst your guests. I like to set out tiny pumpkins at each plate to step up the fun. I also love tiny, painted mason jars, each with their own flowers in them. People love to play with whatever you set out and have conversation about it. There are more formal place holders that you can add a name card to in order to mix everyone up and get folks to interact. Whichever you choose, they are an inexpensive way to create a new table seating dynamic.

Screen Shot 2020-11-18 at 1.18.19 PM.png

Break Out the Good Stuff

Don’t forget that even if you have to hand wash them, now is the time to use the good china, fancy silverware and crystal you got for your wedding. The Linen Gallery has a beautiful assortment of colors for table linens as well. Go crazy with a set of matching table clothes and napkins or place mats. Or for just a splash of color, go for a table runner. Try some fall colors if you like a bit more traditional look or create something completely adorable like a farmhouse black and white table with just a tiny bit of mint thrown in there. My fav is navy. It’s the latest color trend still holding strong and makes a beautiful statement with white. Lastly, if you like a little bling, throw in some gold. Gold catches the eye and there’s tons to choose from like chargers, candle holders and ceramics.

Whichever style you choose for your table this year, remember it’s all about enjoying those around you. Our Priority Group team wishes you a healthy and prosperous Thanksgiving. Feel free to read more of our blogs and check out who we are at omahaprioritygroup.com.

Setting the 2021 Mood with Lighting

The choices for lighting are endless. There is bathroom lighting, chandeliers, pendants, tracking lighting and wall sconces to name a few. And that doesn’t even include outdoor lighting. But what’s in store for the new year? I’ve been speaking to the experts at Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery and here’s what I’ve learned. Next year is destined to be exciting when it comes to lighting. Hey…that rhymes! From dynamic configurations and had-blown glass pendants to vibrant lampshades, brass finishes and retro designs, designers say 2021 is set to be the best thus far.

Screen Shot 2020-11-14 at 8.36.45 AM.png

Being stuck inside due to the pandemic, we’ve realized that lighting up those dark corners of our homes is important to how we feel. Artful ceiling lights make a room well lit and catch the eye with unique shapes and colors. Imagine metallic finishes as they bounce light all across a room, bringing somewhat of a festive feel to the space. The lighting that we’ve seen at the Ferguson showroom comes in many shapes and colors as well as various types of light.

Sculptured table and floor lamps are a new idea. They can bring a modern and eclectic feel to a home and some are playing to the latest trend in art deco. Something that’s being revived in design after being popular in the 1930’s. Hard edges, bold lines and soft colors contrast one another nicely. Geometric shapes are coming back as well.

Screen Shot 2020-11-14 at 8.38.09 AM.png

Industrial light fixtures are going to continue to be popular with combined materials making a statement that compliments many different decors. If you’re decorating an open space or loft home layout the industrial style works well and even works well as a contract to softer, less commercial like spaces.

And lastly, all white fixtures are new in design. The uniqueness of these types of light fixtures is that they can be all kinds of different forms and materials but always with all-white design Meanwhile, the bet part is that they can go with any and every decoration in your house. What’s mor, if you love a simple, minimal interior style, then these types of lights are ideal for you. They are going to be one of the most trending light fixtures in 2021.

Sexy Kitchen Appliances

Yes, I said it…sexy kitchen appliances! They’ve changed so much recently that I just had to spread the word. There are new colors, new finishes, new functionality, and new technology just to mention a few. Recently Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery hosted an event where they displayed models of these sexy appliances and I could not believe my eyes.

Sophisticated Appliances

Café has expanded so that your choices are no longer limited to color but now you can choose different hardware as well as different functionality. Their built-in wall ovens come with features like French doors that open with one hand so that you can hold your dish with the other hand. Want to change it up? Well, you can change the color of your hardware to anything from a more basic matte black, matte white or stainless steel to brushed bronze, brushed black, brush copper, or brushed stainless. The endless options give their appliances a unique and custom look without the fuss of ordering custom. It comes with a price that’s more than your ordinary appliances, but the look is certainly priceless.

Screen Shot 2020-11-11 at 10.24.13 AM.png

High Tech in the Kitchen

The latest in technologically savvy kitchen appliances are smart range hoods and refrigerators. You can use your range hood similar to the way you use a tablet. It comes with a recipe app that has thousands of receipts and an app to help control the smart devices in your home. If you like sharing your dishes, you can snap a picture of your meal and send it to someone. Want to know what’s left in the fridge? Just get yourself a smart refrigerator. It will help you see what’s inside as well as let you create a shopping list, play music, surf the internet or watch your favorite show. Talk about having everything at your fingertips. These appliances let you do it all.

Wine Station

Never mind uncorking your favorite wine. Instead, think about getting one of these neat Dacor wine stations in your kitchen and instantly have a fully loaded, readily accessible wine bar. Place your glass under the wine spout, push a button and voila, your glass is full, and you can get back to the party. And don’t worry about selection because you can store several of your favorites at once. Anyone who loves a good glass of wine, knows that this appliance is a great investment.

Anti-microbial

Look for appliances with finishes on touchable surfaces that are fingerprint resistant. A fingerprint-resistant or smudge-proof appliance is usually stainless steel or matte finish that has been treated with a sturdy coating to prevent grime and bacteria from getting into the natural porous surface of the metal. These durable finishes make cleanup a breeze with simple soap and water. They can be found in multiple finishes, including stainless and slate, to match your kitchen. Also incorporated into today’s healthy and clean lifestyle are dishwashers with high temp sanitizing settings that use steam to sanitize dishes. The cleaner the better, I always say.

Anyone Care for a Cup of Coffee?

Well…if you’re a coffee drinker this last one is my favorite. It’s a built-in coffee maker by Miele. Forget about going out to a coffee shop, this one will spoil you right in your own kitchen. Again, the babies come with a price tag that’s higher than a traditional coffee maker but if you savor your morning coffee they are worth the investment. Imagine waking up to the smell of your favorite coffee ground fresh and prepared one of several different ways like an espresso or a late or maybe even a cappuccino. At the push of a button, you’ll have it. Do your homework though. You want a brand that has a reputation for unique items like a built-in coffee machine. It’s going to get installed into your wall, so you want something quality.

That’s all that I’ve got for kitchen appliances this week. Look for more blogs by Sallie Elliott at omahaprioritygroup.com/blog.

Potty Talk – 2021 Toilet Trends

Who thinks about these things? Designers do.

Believe it or not the pièce de resistance of a great bathroom design can be the toilet. Recently, Kohler hosted an event at Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery on toilet trends for next year. My design team and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend. We were excited to see what is new in styles, technology, and mounting options. And we found out there were many new things to see.

One Piece or Two Piece? That is the Question

There are choices for one piece or two-piece toilets as well as one piece tankless and they come in traditional and more contemporary to modern styles. Tomorrow’s two-piece options are more cost effective and a little bit more on the traditional side. In terms of functionality, there are several choices of flush levers both on the side of the tank, on the front of the tank or directly on top making the look of tank more streamlined. Each one has it’s aesthetic benefits as well as functional benefit. One-piece options slant toward the more modern to ultra-modern style and can be tankless. This design option tends to be more sleek and less flashy in terms of looks. and Either way, there’s one for everyone’s taste.

Screen Shot 2020-11-04 at 12.25.37 PM.png

Technology

Surprise, surprise there are commodes that have one touch functionality. Some options come with a full complement of convenient features including heated seat, customizable cleansing, night-light, hands-free opening/closing, automatic flush, plus a touchscreen remote. The styles, again, tend to be more on the modern side for these toilets and the price tag is higher so you might want to reserve this one for the master bath with more custom features. And they come in interesting colors like white with rose gold trim. Check out our video with a snippet of a new high-tech toilet.

Screen Shot 2020-11-04 at 12.27.42 PM.png

Wall Mounted

New 2021 options for wall mounted toilets are my personal favorite. They are great for smaller bathrooms, making the room look larger, and they have clean sleek lines that simplify your design. It almost looks as if the toilet is floating. Choices and prices also vary for these. They can be more affordable then you think, and they come in mod styles or more classic choices. Let’s not forget the ability to easily clean around the bowl. Also, there is a color choice of black in addition to white.

2021 Trends in Bathroom Faucets and Vanities

Coming Soon

As a designer, I have the privilege of attending previews of the latest and greatest designer items. Recently, I attended an event highlighting the new designs for bathroom vanities and faucets. I know, it doesn’t sound that exciting, but you would be surprised to know that things have changed, and the 2021 trends are fantastic. For example, there are brand new bowl shapes like molded porcelain sinks. They are a new material spin on a once popular molded sink from the 80s. The new bowl shapes with rounded edges are simple, classic and beautiful.

Colors, Colors and More Colors

Not only are the new 2021 model sinks coming in brand new solid colors, but they come in patterns as well. I saw a bathroom sink with a black background and pink, white and green floral design inside. Not only was it unique but it wasn’t busy the way you might guess. Check out the video included in this blog. And the contrast of the black against the florals was surprisingly traditional with a modern twist.

What Matches Those Exquisite Sinks

One of the most exciting things about all the new sink designs was how they were paired with bathroom faucets. New Kohler faucets for 2021 span the gamut with a combination of new touch free and one touch technology and finishes in colors like…wait for it…Ombre. Yes, Ombre is a latest new faucet color. And not just one set of colors, it comes in a couple of different Ombre colors. Other beautiful finishes are a high gloss copper and black chrome. They come in modern styles to go with the cutting edge, and might I say, fabulous colors.

Natural and Organic Materials Make a Comeback

Spa bathrooms have never really gone out of style with organic materials like teak shower mats, clean lines, and soothing colors. In fact, we used a beautiful wood sink bowl in one of the model homes we designed. Amazingly its beautiful and functional. The possibilities are endless with todays materials and finishes. You just have to imagine it.

Top 10 Things to Do Before Selling Your Home

1.      Find a Great Real Estate Agent

Find an agent that you have a good rapport with.  Then check their qualifications like number of homes sold in the last 12 months and get referrals. Also, find out what they will do to market your home. Will they put it on the internet, social media, and the Multiple Listing Service?  Will they take professional photos? Do they answer their own listing appointment phone calls? Ultimately, no matter how qualified they are, you want them to take the time to listen to you and be able to treat you the way someone should be treated when making one of the largest decisions of their life. Selling and moving are emotional circumstances.  Make sure your new realtor can be empathetic when it’s needed.

2. Consider Your Curb Appeal

Believe it or not, buyers do tend to judge a book by its cover. Painting your front door, cleaning up the front yard and some inexpensive landscaping can go a long way, like colorful flowers.  If you have a front lawn, make sure it gets mowed regularly so that the home looks well kept.  People will decide how well you take care of your home based on that first impression. Pressure washing your concrete can also be a good thing if you want to go the extra mile.  For tips on how you can maximize your curb appeal, speak you your real estate agent.  After all, they’re the professionals with lots of experience on what helps and what is unnecessary.

Curb Appeal.jpg

3.      Declutter Living Areas

Removing items that aren’t necessary from your living spaces is important for a few reasons.  It helps prospective buyers to envision their own things in that space rather than being overwhelmed by stuff.  Additionally, it makes those spaces look bigger. This is important since more square footage is always desirable.  Especially in today’s work at home environment. If you have a pantry, organize it. It will go a long way to making everything look appealing. And lastly, a more orderly space is going to be more aesthetically pleasing.  Buyers want to be looking at the home, not the clutter.

Clutter.jpg

4.      Depersonalize Your Space

Removing things that are specific to you will help buyers to see themselves and their family there.  Taking down family photos may seem excessive to some but it will help if their envisioning their own family in the home instead.  Put away pet items. Not everyone wants pets, and some may consider it a turn off if you have one in your home.  You never know how personal someone may consider your pets to be.  Put away toys.  Toys are not esthetically pleasing, and they can be a trip hazard.  Let people enjoy how nice your home looks rather than look at your kid’s toys.

5.      Repaint Walls to Neutral Tones

The bright colors in your home may be appealing to you but remember that you’re wanting to appeal to the masses. Neutral tones give potential buyers a blank canvas so they can imagine their favorite colors on the walls. Also, a neutral pallet will make the space look bigger and brighter. Today’s trends are light greys with white trim but that’s another great question for your realtor.  Or you can find tips online for paint colors. Regardless, it’s a relatively inexpensive way to make your home feel more updated and freshly painted walls are a draw.

Painter.jpg

6.      Touch Up Any Scuff Marks

Scuff marks on trim, doors and walls can make your home look worn down.  Make sure you match the touch up color well and freshen up anywhere you see them.  Especially in high traffic areas and areas that will draw the eye like entry ways or large empty wall. This is also an inexpensive way to give buyers the impressions that the house is well maintained.  Plus, it’s something you can do yourself in very little time.

7.      Fix Any Loose Handles

Again, loose handles on doors and cabinets give the impression that you don’t maintain the home.  Tightening those up takes little time and effort and you can do it yourself. Virtually nothing is off limits when someone is viewing your home and you can bet; they’ll open doors so make sure everything feels solid.

Loose handle.jpg

8.      Conduct a Smell Test

This one sounds funny, but smells can be a deal breaker.  Musty smells make buyers think that there’s been water where there shouldn’t be.  Food smells can be a deterrent and cigarette smoke is a big one.  Buyers may think that it will be impossible to remove an odor and decide, based on the smell test, that they don’t want to purchase your home.  You may have gone nose deaf to your home’s particular smell so invite a friend over who will tell you the truth about the way your home smells.  This is a big one people.  Stinky is not good!

smelly.png

9.      Clean, Clean, Clean

Another biggie is the cleanliness of your space.  Some sellers will hire professional cleaners to clean their house regularly while showing their home.  The pros know what people see often and they’ll ensure that those things always look good.  If you’re going to clean it yourself, no problem, just make sure that it’s done thoroughly.  Do one really deep cleaning before your house goes on the market.  Have your carpets and windows cleaned so they look and smell fresh and people see the sun shining through, not the dirt on those windows.  Most buyers won’t buy a home if it doesn’t look clean to them.  Another potential deal breaker.

cleaning.jpg

10.      Consider Staging

I can’t speak about this one enough.  Professional stagers will make your home look like just the perfect space by putting in furniture which is specifically designed to make the rooms look larger and accessorizing to make spaces look more appealing.  Some realtors even offer this service for free.  Making sure that there isn’t too much furniture in a room or that the size of the furniture doesn’t overwhelm the room can make a world of difference.  Blending colors and using colors and styles that are up to date make a difference.  The way your house is staged can make it more appealing to more buyers rather than only appealing to the buyers who like your specific style.  It will also freshen up the spaces and, if done correctly, looks great in the photos shown with your home listing.

Reasons Why FSBO Sales Fail

Marketing Your Home Isn’t as Easy as You Think

By marketing your home on your own you may not get as much exposure to the right audiences as you will need. Realtors have access to the Multiple Listing Services which automatically ties into many of the online real estate websites. Imagine trying to get onto every one of them, even the most common one, by manually adding all your listing details and photos. That ties into professional photos. Taking your own is not as effective as having them professionally done, which can be pricey. Professional real estate photographers know exactly how to photograph your home in the right lighting, with professional equipment and what to highlight like tall ceilings, attractive finishes and, with their experience and expertise, they can make the home look more spacious. Additionally, a realtor knows just how to present your home to the public by writing a good listing description with the most important and impressive things about your home highlighted. Let’s not forget that the right realtor will have a network of other realtors and potential clients to present your property to. Giving your home exposure to a much wider market of buyers.

DSC_3783-1.jpg

Homes For Sale By Owner are Typically Priced Wrong

Most For Sale by Owner properties are priced too high or worse, too low. Pricing your home at a value that is too high for the area will exclude you from consideration the moment a potential buyer buyer’s realtor looks at the listing. When a seller lists their own home, they tend to have an emotional investment in the property that influences the listing price. A good realtor will research comparable homes in your neighborhood and help you to determine what the correct price of your house should be. Today’s market is a seller’s market, and you can easily sell your home in a couple of weeks depending on its price range. Additionally, if your price is incorrect for the area, your home may languish on the market for a long time, making buyers wonder what might be wrong. Listing price is key and a professional will not only help you get the best bang for your buck but help you sell quickly

You Could Overestimated or Underestimate How Much to Spend on Updating Your Home

Updating your home is important so that it will appeal to more buyers, but you have to be careful about how much to spend on your upgrades. Things like fresh paint and updating your curb appeal go a long way and they are budget friendly. If you decide to renovate your entire kitchen and spend $50,000 on doing so, there are no guarantees that you’ll recuperate that money in the sale of your home. New carpet and flooring also go a long way if you want to make a more substantial investment in selling without breaking the bank. Real estate agents have experience helping their clients to prepare for a sale. They look at your home and tell if you need to declutter, clean and may suggest things like staging. It’s not always good to spend a ton of money to renovate when selling.

Showings are a Drag

FSBO sellers don’t realize what a drain showing your own home can be. On top of scheduling potential buyers, you’ll have to deal with looky-loos, people who have no intention of buying and sharks, investors looking to flip your house for a profit. You’ll quickly be inundated with calls from real estate investors looking to save on realtor commissions and who typically low ball you on the price of your home and don’t result in a sale. An agent will schedule and staff tours of your home and weed out unsuitable buyers. They’ll also ensure that potential buyers are qualified to finance a home at your price. They’ll also solicit feedback from people who have seen your home that they might otherwise be hesitant to share with the owner of the home. And lastly, people don’t want to look at a home when the buyer is there. You may think it’s helpful to tell a buyer all about your home while they look, but some may find it intrusive and it may make them uncomfortable taking a good look at the home.

Preparing Your Own Paperwork Can Be Tricky

Unless you have a background in contracts or law, you may want to leave the paperwork to the pros. Not only is the sale of a home paper intensive but most realtors use electronic documents whose software you may not be familiar with making it difficult for you to transact. Also, there are disclosure requirements like lead-based paint addendums which a legally required. A realtor will know what paperwork need to be including in the transaction and also help to keep you out of legal hot water as well as ensure that you are protecting your own interest in writing during the transaction. And lastly, your agent is a professional and experienced negotiator. The right realtor will have years of experience and know just how to present counter offers and help you determine what’s fair to offer in terms of repairs to the home etc. Avoid opening yourself up to a potential lawsuit during the contracting process and hire a pro.

Kitchen Faucet Trends 2021

Screen Shot 2020-10-21 at 11.59.42 AM.png

This week my design team and I attended a Kohler event at Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery in Omaha. The event featured new faucets for 2021, among them, kitchen faucets.

The latest and greatest include a plethora of styles and colors and the trend seems to be touch-less pull out, pull down and industrial faucets but the real kicker is the new colors. I even saw one in Ombre and there were beautiful new copper colors as well as brushed modern brass and the classic pewter, chrome and gunmetal colors seen throughout the years.mart Kitchen Faucets

Smart Kitchen Faucets

Another exciting new option in faucets are voice-activated models. Settings for faucet controls are personalized in special applications. Just use a voice command to control water flow, temperature and on/off.

Styles and Sizes

Obviously, they come in all styles from traditional to modern, not to mention, heights for easily filling tall vases and large pots. What really impressed me is how elegant they all were. Some with a more country design, and some with sleek modern lines. See them for yourself in the video.

Screen Shot 2020-10-21 at 12.21.50 PM.png

I’d really like to say that I saw one that caught my eye more than the others, but I couldn’t pick one out of all of them. They were all super stars.
